HIP Welcomes VIP delegation From ASEAN

A VIP delegation from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) visited the Hambantota International Port on Saturday, 24 September to familiarise themselves with the port’s facilities and services offered.

The delegation consisted of High Commissioner of Malaysia Dato’ Tan Yang Thai, Ambassador of Indonesia Dewi Gustina Tobing, Ambassador of Vietnam Ho Thi Thanh Truc, and their respective diplomatic entourages.   

The delegates were met by HIP management at Sky Lounge where Hambantota International Port Group (HIPG) CFO Raymond Mu and Hambantota International Port Services (HIPS) CEO Capt. Ravi Jayawickreme gave them a short introduction to the port’s current business and future development plans. A more detailed presentation was made by HIPG DGM – Commercial and Marketing Bindu Ranasinghe. Subsequent discussions were also held with the port officials present. The visit ended with a tour of the port and the port industrial park.
