SLAAR joins hands with CAA to bolster aviation industry

The newly appointed Executive Committee members of the Sri Lanka Association of Airlines Representatives (SLAAR) called on Civil Aviation Director-General and Chief Executive Officer (DGCA and CEO) P.A. Jayakantha on 18 August at the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka in Katunayake.

They discussed the current and future airline operations in Sri Lanka and the officials exchanged their views with the DGCA and CEO. SLAAR also pledged its commitment towards the betterment of Sri Lanka’s aviation industry and shared its plans for the upcoming year.   

The DGCA appreciated the commitment of local representatives towards the betterment of the aviation industry in Sri Lanka in the past and looked forward to their continuous commitment. 

Led by SLAAR President Srimath Fernando, the industry association represents over 35 foreign airlines in the country which consists of General Sales Agents (GSA) in the online and offline airlines involved in the passenger and cargo business. 

CAASL’s Actg. Deputy Director-General of Corporate Affairs and Economic Regulations Rayhan Wanniappa, and Manager Air Services and Traffic Rights Ishara Gunawardena were also present at the meeting.
